Creating Small Moments of Joy at Home

Home is where the heart is, and now more than ever, where we spend most of our spare time. For many of us, working from home is the new normal. That, combined with the natural urge to hibernate during these cold months, means we have comfortably settled into our daily routines at home.

And we know it is easy to fall into a “stuck at home” mentality. But as true home enthusiasts, we are here to change that daunting narrative. And don’t worry, we are keeping it simple.

Over the years, we have learned that falling in love with your home often comes down to creating small moments of joy. 

Think of your favorite cozy chair where you settle in with a good book or where you fall at the end of the day to catch up with your loved ones. It’s not just any old chair but styled just so with a soft throw and pillow as plush and cozy as it is beautiful.

Maybe it’s your favorite candle set atop a stack of inspiring coffee table books that, when lit, marks your transition into the relaxing part of your day.

And let’s talk about work from home. Are you still sitting down at the makeshift desk you set up two years ago? Time has gotten away from you, we know… but you deserve better.

Your work space should be just as beautiful as it is functional. Whether you are set up at a comfortable spot on the couch or at a traditional desk, your space should incorporate furniture that inspires productivity or at the very least, some small elements to make you smile.

Lastly, we must address your work from home wardrobe. While we agree that comfort is key, we are SO over the business up top, yoga pants on the bottom look. Can we leave that behind in 2022?

What we wear to our 9-5 should inspire us to do our best work, even if we never actually leave the house. Reach for your favorite sweater and that beautiful blouse that lays just right. Combined with a buttery pair of leather pants or your favorite pair of denim, you can take on your to-do list in style.

Dare we suggest you throw on your favorite pair of heels to complete the look? They may not make an appearance on your zoom call but nonetheless, they serve as a quiet reminder that you mean business!
