Struck By The Mood

November 9, 2020

Although the weather has been incredibly warm this past week, it seems the world and K. Renee have been struck by the holiday mood. For the first time in the eight holiday seasons that I have been a part of the K. Renee team, our holiday trees are up and an abundance of decor has arrived!

Last year, our team installed several holiday trees for clients.   Our style elves swooped in with trees, ribbon, ornaments and loads of decor.  How fun would that be to have your tree put up and beautified by a K. Renee style elf?

This year, we loaded up again with all the goodies needed to make some holiday magic in your home.  So just how do our elves style a holiday tree?

The Tree

K. Renee prefers to use a traditional style heavily flocked tree as it creates the perfect base to layer and decorate as you wish.  There is nothing better than starting with a tree that already looks gorgeous before anything is added!

We do have several of these currently in stock!

Tell A Story

The story for K. Renee holiday decor is always classic elegance.   We use an abundance of neutral ornaments and decor, metallics, shimmer and shine, elegant ribbon, florals and other textural items that support our very simple theme.

I, too, do this at home but I always like to add something fresh to my base whether that is a second colored bulb such as blush, teal or something else that strikes my fancy.      I can use my neutral and metallic decorations year-after-year and simply add something new and fresh now and again.

This year, we have added in some rich bronze decor that is simply gorgeous!

Layer and Style Ribbons

One of the most essential components is to use decorative wired ribbon throughout our trees as both garland and bows.

The garland should be draped from top to bottom weaving it from right to left.      Creating bows allows you to strategically place them to fill those unsighly gaps in a tree.  The trick is using wired-ribbon, which will enable you to form and fit the garland and ribbons as each space requires.

A Variety of Styles and Sizes of Ornaments

We love to style our trees with a variety of sizes and styles of ornaments. This works so well because our decorations tend to be neutral colors and metallics that all coordinate beautifully. You know, we don’t like matchy-matchy!

Tree Picks are Your Friends

Another way to create wonderful dimension, texture and beauty in your holiday tree is to use decoratie branches, twigs, florals, and pine cones.   The picks tend to be bendable allowing you to fill in spaces, create tree toppers, and add dimension to your tree.

Probably the best tip that I have for creating your own inspired holiday tree is to simply choose a tree, ornaments and materials that you truly will love year after year...and then realize that there is no perfect way to decorate it.   Don’t labor over it!   The tree is beautiful, the ornaments fabulous, the ribbon glorious.    Have fun with it. Grab a glass of wine and just enjoy the process of putting a collection of beautiful items together.

As we begin to look forward to the holiday season, another thing on our mind is our Annual Home Holiday Transformation.

In years past, we have relied on your nominations for a deserving family to support through the holiday season.     And if you have nominations, we would love to hear from you.

With the world in such chaos, we are searching for ideas on how we can spread support and love into our community during the 2020 holiday season.   This is heavily on our minds. E-mail me directly at Julie@krenee.com with your thoughts, nominations, ideas or suggestions!

Have a wonderful week.  Happy decorating!
