Sparkling All The Way

December 8, 2014

This week Stacie was scheduled to give you an update on the building of her new home (and she will next week!) but I hi-jacked the blog for this week! Last Wednesday, we had the opportunity to present a style show at Des Moines Golf and Country Club to a sold out holiday luncheon and an evening soiree. I thought it would be fun to share a few pictures and styles from the event.

The models featured in the show were all Des Moines Golf members and we could not have had a better group of beautiful women to work with!

The theme for the style show was “Sparkling All The Way” and the scene created by the club was a perfect backdrop for a K. Renee Style show. The ballroom was beautifully decorated with an all white and silver theme with touches of sparkle to create a festive and glamorous platform to show some of our favorite style trends to a group of over 400 women.

Rich texture was created at each table setting by using silver chargers and sequin runners, along with white dishes, linens, chair covers and centerpieces. A magical table awaited its guests!

We decided to create a K. Renee home vignette for the fashion show that aligned with the theme “Sparkling All The Way”. Des Moines Golf allowed us to temporarily furnish an area at the club that sits between the upstairs bar and the candlelight room. We brought in one of our favorite sofa profiles, The Hunter from Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams, along with two chairs in a in a lush neutral fabric. A silver and white hide sits beneath a mirrored coffee table.

We adorned the vignette with a soft throw and luxurious pillows of silver, gold and a few sparkles along the way. It was such a fun way to get to model our home store right along with the women who walked the runway.

Back to the style show! With a full house on hand, Kelli and I had the opportunity to talk about some of the beautiful looks (from casual to dressy) that we have available at our clothing store.

Behind the scenes, we had handbags, shoes, jewelry and scarves ready to finish off each of the 30 looks we created for the show.

One of our models, shows us how to take a little black dress and make it a bit more casual by adding tights, an over the knee boot, scarf and a fun leather jacket to the mix.

Another shows us how a beautiful cashmere ruana, over the perfect white shirt and a girl friend jean creates an effortless yet chic look.

A white leather jacket in the winter? Absolutely. Our model is stunning in this Rachel Zoe perforated leather jacket paired back to a signature wide leg grey wool pant. She is ready for the board room or an evening out.

Our last segment of the show was devoted to evening wear. This black and gold metallic dress was one of our favorites. And our model’s favorite too!

To end the night, we were able to get a picture of all our beautiful models in their evening looks sitting within our home vignette. Now this is truly a view of our concept “Outfit to Room” in action!

We had a great time working with our models and creating the fashion show. But it is time to turn to the week ahead. We have so many beautiful new things at both of our stores that would make a perfect gift or stocking stuffer. Personally, there is nothing more exciting than seeing two or three (or more) purple boxes from K. Renee underneath the Christmas tree.

As a matter of fact, we have a one day only trunk show coming up this Thursday featuring one-of-a-kind wrist cuffs from artist Paula Lorenz. These art pieces would make a wonderful and unique gift for a loved one (or yourself)!

The artist will be in the store along with a vast selection of her art pieces for one day only! We hope to see you there!

With all the gatherings, decorations and holiday spirit swirling all around me…it’s hard for me not to be happy. I hope you are too. Have a wonderful week!
