It's Giving Time!

December 4, 2013
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I know that I did (although I am still stuffed.) My new kitchen worked beautifully and it was wonderful to have all my family in the new home.

The rolling cart started the day as a prep station and I quickly put Jenni to work. As she was cooking, I snapped this picture and I told her she looked like she could have her own cooking show!

Jenni’s Cauliflower Au Gratin (recipe from last week) turned out amazing

and was just as comforting as I remembered it from last year!

Later in the day, the kitchen cart transitioned beautifully into a serving station. Perfect!

I love having furniture that gets used for multiple purposes. After dinner, my 120’ reclaimed wood dining table became an entertainment center where we laughed, shared conversation and played a few quiet (not) games.

As much as I love Thanksgiving, I am really a Christmas nut. And for the next 20 days, I will plug away at figuring out what food we will cook, how I will decorate, what I will wear and what special gifts I can give for the amazing people in my life.

For me, the best part of the season is figuring out what I will give to my loved ones. I am not one of those people that can move through this process quickly.
Thankfully, finding unique gifts has become a little easier since we opened K. Renee Home. We are constantly getting new things on the floor both small and big that I know I would want! Here is my gift guide for this season:
This elegant wine bottle cooler would be a great hostess gift! $85
I love this house blessing votive and I think it would make a special gift for a friend or a family member. $73
For the person who has everything, I would shoot for something one of a kind. This natural wood pedestal on a steel base is so beautiful and interesting at the same time. The art object was created for us by a local artisan (Aronson Woodworks). $2100
For my daughters, there is nothing better than clothing by Vince. (Shhhh. Don’t tell!) This long sleeve v-neck wool and cashmere sweater is casual and refined. $325 (Available at our clothing store, K. Renee.)
For that special female in your life (In my case, me!), I would think about this Cynthia Vincent leather python satchel. $549 (Available at our clothing store, K. Renee.)

And last, but not least, YOU. If you have been meaning to update or redo a room before the holidays, we are ready and able to help you put together a beautiful room. We love this taupe leather sofa from Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams. $5340

Until next week, when Stacie, Kelli and I will talk about our best hosting pointers for the holidays that strike a balance of casual fun and elegant glamour.

Enjoy the day.
