A Holiday Story, Part 1

December 15, 2014

I promised last week that you would be getting an update from Stacie about the building of her new home… but we could not have anticipated the wild and wonderful week that we would experience at K. Renee. So we have put Stacie’s blog on hold for just a couple of weeks more so we can begin to share a very special story.

Last Wednesday, our customer committee selected the recipient of our first home transformation giveaway! You might remember that the K. Renee team wanted to give back to our community by creating and donating a beautiful interior space for a deserving individual or a non-profit organization that serves families and children.

Why? Because our team of stylists know first hand how powerful and healing a beautiful interior can be and perhaps just the fresh start a family or group might need!

We received several amazing nominations which made it extremely tough to choose! Here is the nomination letter that was selected by a group of some of our long standing customers…

As soon as we were notified last Wednesday, we lept into action to create a cozy and comfortable room for this deserving family! Yesterday, our entire team from both our clothing and home store pulled together and surprised Suzanne (with the help of her husband and sister) with not only the news of the living room transformation but the completion of it as well.

I know, I know… I want to give you all the details with before and after pictures, but that will be posted next Monday in a very special holiday edition of our blog.

This is just a sneak peak of the living room before…

I think I can speak for the rest of the K. Renee team and tell you that we had a magical experience and feel so blessed to have been able to share our love of transforming spaces into a place of peace and comfort. We are in the holiday spirit full force!

To spread our cheer, all of our transformation elves will be serving a festive cocktail (in both the clothing and home stores) this Thursday, December 18th from 5 to 8 in the evening. We’d love for you to stop by!

I made this recipe last week for some friends and plan on serving it again to my family on Christmas Day. It’s easy, beautiful and delicious.

Cranberry & Rosemary White “Christmas” Sangria

    • 1 Granny Smith Apple
    • 1 Braeburn Appl
    • 1 heaping Cup of Fresh Cranberries
    • 1 large Sprig Rosemary
    • 1 bottle Pinot Grigio
    • 1/2 Cup White Grap Juice
    • 1/4 Cup Sugar (more, for garnish)
    • 1 Can Club Soda

1. Chop up the apples.

2. In a large pitcher, combine all of the ingredients.

3. Mix it well, so that the sugar fully dissolves.

4. Place the pitcher in the refrigerator to chill. During this time the sugar will fully dissolve and the rosemary, it will infuse your sangria.

5. While that chills, make the festive garnish for this drink. Simply place about 1/2 cup of granulated sugar in a shallow bowl. Lightly wet the rosemary and then give it a good shake to remove any excess water. Then roll the sprigs in the sugar until they are coated as you please.

6. Once the pitcher has chilled for about an hour, it should be ready to serve.
