A Day Will Do
July 16, 2018
So, just what can be done in a day to beautifully transform a home? A lot. Many of you know we had the opportunity to furnish the Platinum Development 2018 Homeshow this year. It had been a couple of years since we took on one of these projects and we decided it was time.

These beautiful homes are built on a fast track and work is being done up until the very last minute. Our team was scheduled to go in and furnish the day before all of the homes were to be COMPLETELY finished, and keys turned into the Home Builders Association. I have to admit; the Platinum Development team was a little stressed as to whether we could pull it off in a day. But of course, I said, "Don't worry, we got you. A day will do!"
I have been watching the building process over the last couple of months and helped our builder choose some key lighting fixtures (which I will show you a little later in the blog), but our style team began the planning and preparation for furnishing the home just a few short weeks before we were called to duty.

Kelli and her style team made a couple of trips to the home in the week before our installation to get a feel for the interior with floors down, kitchen installed, and paint completed. This is an important step in the design process. We can dream on paper all we want, but things change when you actually see how the light enters a room, how the materials of the home interplay with each other, or how the ceiling height effects the scale needs of the room. There are so many three dimensional variables that need to be considered...and this happens best when you stand in a room.

K. Renee is fortunate to have a warehouse full of custom selections that allow us to create an inspiring home furnishing story for many types of homes in a short period of time. We don't have to guess if something will work for a home, we know it will.
Because there was a dominant mixture of black and white features in this custom family home, Kelli felt it needed to be warmed up with a darker furniture palette of soft greys, charcoal, and a few pops of color to create balance and harmony.
Pictures will tell the story better, so let's start at the beginning. The entry.

Umm. Wow. First impressions count, and this does not disappoint.

Moving into the wide open kitchen and great room...

As I am picking out photos for this blog, I am finding that I have way too many favorites! And way too many rooms to show you. We have a master suite, deck, and basement to go! So at the end of this blog, I will provide a link for the full gallery so you can see all the details.
As I mentioned earlier in the building process, we were able to help Platinum Development with some special lighting from our exclusive resources that are not readily available through the traditional lighting showrooms in town.
We provided beautiful, unique yet classic selections for the kitchen, dining, and master bedroom suite. Decorative lighting can be so important in a home especially when it is done right!
It's hard to know what is right and wrong with all the options that are thrown at us, isn't it? Did you know that we make complimentary House Calls?

It is truly what we love to do! If you happen to go out to the homeshow yourself, be sure to stop by the Platinum Development home. Inside you will find a sweet treat as our way to say thank you for coming out to see us.
