9 Minutes
June 1, 2020
This Monday marks the 362nd Light of Style Blog that I have published weekly. Today, I will not be writing one. Like all of you, I am heartbroken over the events that began as a result of a senseless criminal act against a fellow human being one week ago.
The 9 minutes that you have always given me are better served today, listening to and understanding the voices in our community that matter most and need us most.
Yesterday, I regretted not having the insight and courage to have attended the peaceful vigil for George Floyd held at Union Park in Des Moines. But I watched, listened, and learned. It was powerful, and I needed to hear and to acknowledge I have much to learn and understand.
If you are interested, here is the link to the vigil: https://www.facebook.com/WHO13News/videos/703422850200045/

Pastor Mike Householder of Lutheran Church of Hope said it best:
"Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed." Proverbs 31:8
Until next week,
