Cozified

January 6, 2014
Clearly it is time to talk about how to get cozified! Cozified is actually a word according to the Urban Dictionary and means to get comfortable and cozy! And I don’t know about you but with this weather our homes are not just for looking at; they are for living in. I love this quote…

If you too are looking for a few simple ways to cozy up your beautiful home, here are some of our favorites that say “Come on in. Stay awhile.”

Look for furniture that shouts “Curl on up.”

Nothing really does that better than a cozy sectional. There doesn’t need to be a big gap between beautiful to look at and comfortable to sit on. Imagine yourself curling up while reading a book and sipping your morning coffee on this soft grey sectional.

Add soft textures to your space.

A few of these lush Tibetan wool pillows should do just the trick.

And of course, you must have some soft throws close by to snuggle up with during a lazy Sunday afternoon or movie night. You can’t beat these plush throws we carry that come in white, stone, grey, and in this fun new zebra print!

Lay down a rug.

Your hardwood and tile is great in the summer for keeping things cool, but in these cold winter months a textured rug adds not only a great layering element to your home but keeps your feet warm and cozy.

We have so many great options in stock in a variety of sizes but I especially like this one that reminds me of a warm comfortable sweater.

Get excited about settling in for a long winter night.

In my opinion, nothing can take the chill out of winter like a beautiful bed. We especially love this high style four poster upholstered bed from Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams. It hasn’t arrived yet, but we expect it soon! Just send me an email if you want me to call you when it comes in!

So these are the days when it gets dark earlier than I would like but that also means I am less worried about sitting in a dark theater, eating some popcorn and seeing a good movie! I thought that Disney’s “Frozen” seemed appropriate for this blog and I have gotten rave reviews from my seventeen year old daughter and her friend.
Now in Theaters: Disney’s Frozen

Frozen is Disney’s latest new animated musical that is a tale of two sisters. From the toughest movie critic that I know, I have first hand information that it is funny, entertaining and “just the best.” I can’t wait to cozy up and go see it!

Next week, Kelli, Stacie and I head to Atlanta to look for more treasures to bring home to Des Moines. I won’t be writing much (I’ll be shopping!!!), but I will send you pictures of some of our favorite inspirations.

Until then… stay warm and safe.
